2009 Howard H. Steel Conference: Injuries and Dysfunction of the Spinal Cord in Children

ABD is pleased to support the upcoming Howard H. Steel Conference: Injuries and Dysfunction of the Spinal Cord in Children. This conference is organized by Shriners Hospitals for Children and will take place in the Hilton at the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida December 3-5, 2009.


Steel Conference


"Held once every three years, the Howard H. Steel Conference provides a unique opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and dissemination of research throughout the international community that is focused on Pediatric Spinal Cord Injuries and Dysfunction.

Program Objectives:
•Promote the education, research and optimal patient care in the field of Pediatric Spinal Cord Injuries.
•Review the difference between patients with spinal cord injury and patients with spinal dysraphism as well as the differences in treatment.
•Introduce new directions in medicine and technology as they relate to the innovative management of children with spinal cord injury and spinal dysfunction.
•Present current research data and new scientific developments pertaining to pediatric spinal cord dysfunction and injuries.
•Provide an opportunity to discuss complex problems of specific patients and/or patient groups with experts in pediatric spinal cord injury and spinal dysfunction.
•Increase the knowledge base of conference participants in the contemporary management of children with spinal cord injury and spinal dysfunction."
